“The Quran is regarded as the meezan (the scale) and the furqan (distinguisher between right and wrong), a status which it itself claims. It is the scale in which everything related to religion must be weighed and the decisive word in every matter of religion. Everything in religion must stand in subservience to its verdicts.”

Tazkeer-bil-Qur’an
Al-Mawrid Australia conducts Tazkeer-bil-Qur’an (Reminding Allah’s message through the Qur’an) sessions every Sunday from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. The title of these sessions take inspiration from the verse in the Qur’an where Allah says “remind those who fear My warning through this Qur’an” (50:45).
If you are someone who fear Allah’s warning and new to understanding the Qur’an or have attempted to understand the Qur’an in the past and have not been successful then this class is for you.
The reminding of Allah’s warning is the core of the prophetic missions. Allah says in the Qur’an: “For each community, there is a messenger. Then when this messenger comes, their fate is decided with fairness and no injustice is shown to them” (10:47).
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came as the final prophet. His advent was at a time in the history of mankind which is regarded as part of modern history i.e. where key events are recorded such that their occurrence is not refuted by anyone. In addition, he left behind the Qur’an and the Sunnah to guide the future generations till the day of judgment.
In this class, Al-Bayan, is used as a reference to understand the Qur’an. Al-Bayan is the translation of the Qur’an rendered by the renowned Islamic scholar, Javed Ahmed Ghamidi. In addition, contemporary traditional translations are also referred to for comparative study and critical analysis.
Al-Bayan is a unique translation of the Qur’an – it uses the Qur’an’s language and context to derive the meanings of verses, chapters and groups, to enable understanding of Allah’s message. The contemporary traditional translations, however, are based on transliteration. They draw meanings of verses in the light of anecdotes transferred through traditions (Riwayaat) in conjunction the events and circumstances of their revelation. Consequently, these translations come across as a collection of haphazard verses and chapters specifying Shariah (law) and stories of past prophets, which some readers find difficult to relate to.
Al-Bayan has made it possible to understand the subject matter of the Qur’an. It informs us that Qur’an narrates events of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) mission, as they happened. The mission was aimed at communicating the reasoning about the truth of Allah’s warning with such clarity that no excuses remain after that.
To put it simply, this class is an opportunity to learn Allah’s message, when understood based on the Qur’an’s structure and discover how that learning introduces you to a concept of Allah and the religion, entirely different to the traditional concept.
